What are Phthalates and the Risks Associated with them?
Phthalates, or phthalate esters, are a group of chemicals used to make plastics more flexible and durable. Given their chemical properties, they are commonly used as plasticizers in many everyday products, including electronics. The disposal and recycling of these products may release phthalate esters into the environment, pose potential harm to human health.
As more information becomes available about the harmful effects of phthalates and regulation of these substances increases, more companies are looking to remove these hazardous substances from their products.
