There is a fundamental challenge faced by engineers, designers, and product managers alike. Previously, users could pull data from SiliconExpert’s vast component database into their PLM, Designer, or custom internal proprietary tools, providing valuable insights. However, the user would only get a small taste of the data offered by SiliconExpert. To unlock the full potential, the BOM would have to be downloaded from their internal software, cleaned up, and uploaded into SiliconExpert P5 in order to see more information. If changes are made to the BOM, this entire process would have to be duplicated, creating time-consuming work.

The process of manually adding Bill of Materials (BOMs) and new parts back into SiliconExpert’s web platform was a time-consuming, error-prone task. This disconnect often led to discrepancies between the data in their design software and SiliconExpert, causing inefficiencies and potentially costly errors.

This update allows PLM/design/proprietary software users with access to our API to see the same BOM and any new updates automatically within our web application.
