RoHS3 Now Effective

On March 31, 2015, the EU Commission amended the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU by adding 4 new phthalates to the list of restricted substances in Annex II.  These substances, DEHP, BBP, DBP, and DI PB will be restricted in the use of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE)n concentrations greater than 0.1% by weight in the homogeneous material.

Implementation Summary

New Directive Published – March 31, 2015 New Directive Becomes Member State Law – December 31, 2015 Restrictions Become Effective – July 22, 2019Restrictions Become Effective for Medical and Monitoring Control Instruments – July 22, 2021

As of yesterday, July 22, 2019, RoHS3 is now in full force.
