China RoHS 2 Compliance Deadline

On May 16, 2019 the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) published a joint statement on the reform of the China RoHS System known as the “Arrangement for Implementing the Conformity Assessment System of the Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products” and the deadline was on November 1, 2019, for companies to do conformity assessments and upload technical documentation that provides evidence of compliance for 12 product types:

Companies should have conducted compliance assessments either by:

The voluntary certificationThe self-declaration

The legislation introduces two logos that can be used, based on the type of manufacturers for the conformity assessment chosen:

Products that have received voluntary certification will use the logo shown in Figure 1Products that have received a self-declaration will use the logo shown in Figure 2
